 Welcome fairies!

It’s time to celebrate!

Where do fairies have lunch? Pixieland cafe, of course.

How amazing is this perfect little nook with lush greens and a beautiful tree top cover.  There were small stone steps that led to this little area.  So fabulous!

None of my photos even came close to this one! Loved the table.  Simple jars filled with beautiful, vibrant, fresh flowers were amazingly perfect for this picturesque setting.

And after all of the games and food are done…the party is just getting started with some water fun!  What a great ending to an amazing afternoon in Fariy land!

A special thanks to Liz & Grace for allowing me the honor of being part of the very special day! What a fun event and amazingly talented client.

{Real Shindig} Fanciful Fairy Party: Part 2 (Mommy Fairy Energy Boxes & Favors)

IMG_3379

The main mommy fairy for this party requested that provide lunches for all of the other Mommy Fairies that may stay during the party.  She also wanted to provide a little treat for the Mommy Fairies to take with them.  I L-O-V-E-D this idea!  So, we created a Mommy Fairy ONLY  Table.

IMG_3376

We started with simple cardboard boxes as the lunch boxes which I loved. How many things could you use these boxes for? I know it’s silly because they are so simple, but I loved them.  They were on clearance where I purchased them and I bought every one!  I also instantly fell in love with the ribbon a while back and new this would be the perfect for these special lunch boxes!

IMG_3377

The final addition to the boxes was the Mommy Fairy Energy Box labels.  I created these in Word by simply inserting a rounded rectangle shape, change the borders to dots and added text. Print those on full sheet labels, cut them out and you are good to go.

The other element of this table was the little treats we sent home with the Mommies.  I have to say with as many parties as I have done, I have never done a separate favor for the mommy.  What a sweet, thoughtful fabulous idea!

IMG_3367Here are the fairy sweet treats we made for the mommies.  I found these super cute boxes with a little window in the back at the Container store.  The possibilities for these little white boxes are nearly endless…but I digress.

IMG_3369

We nestled a chocolate cupcakes (the head Fairy Mommy’s favorite)!  Isn’t this little window fabulous.  Gives you just a peak at what’s inside.  What is the other FABULOUS part of these favors?  Maybe the most fabulous part of these favors?  A hand written note was included with each from my client.  How thoughtful is that?  Do you see a trend?  This amazing mommy is one of the most thoughtful ladies I have met!!

{Real Shindig} Fanciful Fairy Party: Part 1 (Food & Favors)

IMG_3333

So I already shared some photos with you from this party, but I thought I share some of the details. The other photos were from the very talented Liz Westerhaus Photography, this post however has my photos – sorry! This was my big centerpiece for the party.    For years I have wanted to use a canopy for a table and this was my big opportunity!  This is definitely something you will see again because it was a really sweet detail that would work for many different themes. The colors for the party were hot pink and aqua.  I found this fabulous table cloth on clearance that was exactly the right color aqua.  It was the perfect fabric!  Next, I layered on a tulle skirt because the more tulle at a fairy party the better.  I have to apologize that I didn’t get a great photo because the food was still covered when I left.

Now that we had the foundation, let’s add the next layer! In the center of the table we centered a silver tiered tray and filled it with butterfly shaped PB&J plus one PB&H (honey) for especially for the birthday girl. We added star shaped watermelon wands on either side of the sandwiches.  The watermelon wands were simply watermelon cut with a star shaped cookie cutter stuck on a long white lollipop stick with some coordinating ribbon.IMG_3340

Veggie cups are all the rage right now, so I thought they would be perfect for this health conscious mom!  We paired this with some butterfly shaped cheese and crackers.

IMG_3337

Then we had to have some sweet treats right?  So let’s talk sweets.  We add some plump strawberries dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with pink “fairy dust.”  Do we need more sprinklings of fairy dust?  Why yes, thanks for asking.  We added some chocolate dipped pretzel fairy wands.  For our final treat we took puff corn mixed with pretzel, drizzled with white chocolate and dusted it with pink sprinkles.

For additional fairy vibes we added a few butterflies, some birdbaths and a couple of flowers.  One of my other favorite things on this table were the bubble favors.  I have seen such cute bubble favors around I wanted to tray a new spin on them.  So, in the wedding section at Michael’s I found the perfect clear glass bubble jars.  I crafted a bubble wand from silver pipe cleaners and added a label that said “Grace’s Fairy Bubbles” and “Thanks for coming to my 5th Birthday Party!”

Well friends, just can’t get things to slow down enough to give you all proper attention, but I promise I am trying.  With that said, it’s my birthday today and I took the day off work.  What am I doing with that day?  Well, have to do some blogging because this IS what I do for fun!  Without further chatter…

I loved, loved, loved this fairy party.   The client for this party was the best!  I had actually hired her last summer to photograph a party and she turned the table by hiring me to help her.  Truth be told, she already had ideas in progress when she called me.  The party was a great collaboration which really is my favorite kind.  I seriously have no idea where to start sharing.  It was really, really so much fun.  If I have to chose, I am going to start with the treat table because if all else fails that’s my go-to.  The great thing is this mom is very talented and has shared some of her photos with me.  Now, I get to share them with you!
